When I was growing up, glasses were not cool. Now, nearly everyone of our peer companies is making at least one type of clear lens glasses – not sunglasses…what were formerly called “windows.” Unfortunately, I have even seen some local hipsters wearing only frames. That’s right, only frames, sans even clear lenses…and I can’t say I’m feeling that. Anyways, recently some friends approached me because their fancy glasses were adjusted to fit and no longer fit the cases they came in. I’ve also seen beautiful, handmade glasses arriving in the most hideous carrying cases – what is up with that? Made in France frames with lovely made in China fake carbon case? So I got to work and made up these “cigar boxes” for glasses – solid Honduran Mahogany. The glasses modelling the cases were made by my friend Kohei when he was running Motive brand…I likes.
